Lucas is now 6 months old!

I can't believe how fast time flies. Lucas is now 6 months old. That means I've been sleep deprived for 6 months too! Haha. He can now sit on his own, roll and roll and roll, babbles a lot, and he is now on his hand and knees, i think the crawling is coming soon...eeek!

I think my son needs a bigger size diaper yup size 5. I'm sick of cleaning poop off shoti's clothes. I hope going up a size solves that problem. He now wears 9 month clothes and weighs probably more than 20lbs. Yikes...i know...my poor back.

Also today we went to the pumpkin patch with Maddie's school. Thank goodness it didn't rain or else it would've been muddy. Maddie got a small pumpkin that she could carry on her own.

Maddie before she left for school

Cox and I are now proud parents of a preschooler. It was both a very exciting and a weird moment for both of us. For the first time, we dropped off Maddie at school and left her there the WHOLE time. That's a big deal for us. Because at two's time, we were with her the whole year. She would not be left alone even if we waited just outside the door. This time we said our goodbyes and LEFT. There were no tears we were so proud my little girl is now a BIG girl. I had a few hours to spend with just Lucas. Weird. On Friday, am going to go for a walk and get some coffee and enjoy a few hours of just having 1 kid. :o)

I can't believe it! I've been a mom for 3 years now...sigh..that means 3 years of not sleeping much. Hahaha. Maddie has grown up these past few weeks, she's learned to get up on the toilet without a stool, she's learning how to wear her shirts and pants herself properly (still not perfect but kudos for trying). We were invited to Elijah's 5th Birthday party. Maddie had a blast (thanks again "Pees"). She was so excited she did not eat any healthy food at all. All she had was just juice and ice cream!! WOOHOOO can you say sugar HIGH? Anyway, after she went through her loot bag she eventually fell asleep. She finally got tired halfway home. Here are some pics.

Recently, We have been wanting to "training" Maddie to go to summer programs on her own. But yesterday she did! Yahooo!! With little tears of course, but this time she actually had a good time. I am gearing her up for preschool in the fall. Where it's not parent participation. I know we will have another adjustment period, but at least I know that she CAN do it. This picture shows how much fun she had.

Lucas was 6 weeks old this past Monday so that means...I can drive now!!! Wooohooo.. it's not like I didn't enjoy being chauffeured around but sometimes I just want to go out -- NOW and I can't. It's just different when I know I can go out anytime I want and not have to bother someone to drive me. So thank goodness it's already been 6 weeks.

My son has grown...he now weighs 12.5 lbs and 23 in long! He eats a LOT! Thank goodness we have no problems feeding him the breast or the bottle.

PS. Thank you Mom and Dad for all your help during the past few weeks. It's truly appreciated! :o)

Our son is finally here! I have to admit the recovery from my c-section is going better than when I had Maddie. I am more mobile this time compared to before. Am sure my husband is glad because this time he does not have to carry/accompany me to the bathroom. Am not sure if it's because my body knows that am not going to get much help from Cox at the hospital since someone has to stay with Maddie. But my poor mom had to stay with me at the hospital to help with Lucas. Thanks MOM. It's greatly appreciated!

It's been a rough few days trying to adjust to the night time feedings again. It's been awhile since we've done it. But we're slowly getting to some routine. I hope! Like tonight, Cox and I are sharing the night shift, Cox is now getting some shut eye while I stay up and keep shoti company. How am I writing this now you say? Erin came up to meet Lucas for the first time this weekend. So while she is happily keeping him company, I get to post on my blog which I have not done so in a while. It's just been a little too busy preparing for his arrival.

Thank you to Jen & Van for hosting my baby shower. Too bad not everyone could attend. But to those who came to join us, thanks!I hope everyone had as much fun as we did. I love the scrapbook pages everyone made. I will cherish them forever. It's always a great time to have a get together since we are all busy with our own families. We need more of these social gatherings. I guess the next BIG event would be in the summer. For Miki's 1st Birthday and Ian & Avi's wedding. Maybe we can make that sooner...fingers crossed.

I had a great day yesterday, my hubby got home from Chicago. We had some girl friends over for lunch. Everyone loved the misua. Thanks Auntie Stella! For dinner, the family went to Mui. We went to white spot to pick up a slice of srtrawberry cheesecake so i can blow the candle but we didn't have any candles at home. So the candle blowing is postponed till next time. :o).

Maddie's first Dentist Visit!

I am so proud of my little girl. Today, she had her first visit with a dentist (Lola Carmen). She was very good, she sat on the chair had her teeth electrically brushed, 2 fluoride trays put in -- at the same time, and flossed. Lola Carmen could not believe that it was her first time at the dentist. As a reward for good behavior she got 2 rings and 1 toothbrush.

I think we have made it! Maddie is now potty trained. YAHOO!!!!! The only times that she needed to change her panty is when her pee leaks upwards and it leaks out on her panty -- how that happens you say? I don't know! It's weird. I don't know if she's very excited to pee that's why it leaks out.

Eventhough she's been sick these past few days, she still manages to pee and poo in the toilet. I am happy to announce that she is getting better - fever wise but she is still coughing and has a runny nose. Sigh... I hope she gets better 100% i promised her some ice cream ;o)

Potty Tales continues...

Yesterday was the first day Maddie wore diapers all day. After 15 pees, 4 accidents (peeing in the carpet and pooping before sitting), 2 mini poops. I think she did pretty well. She didn't even pee in her diaper when she went down for her nap. And when we were ready for bed she i put her diaper on and we had to go to the potty 3x before she went to sleep. She insisted on peeing in the toilet and not in her diaper. Eventually she fell asleep thank GOD. I was exhausted but could not sleep because my body was still kind of achy. So i took a few minutes to stretch my back and eventually fell asleep but still had a restless sleep. I think this pregnancy is starting to take a toll on me. I can't seem to sleep very well these days..anyway, until tomorrow..

Btw, it's now 2pm and Maddie still has the same panty that she wore this am! woohooo! we're doing well. I hope I didn't just jinx her great potty job streak!

Hope everyone had a great day. I was sick as a dog yesterday. But i managed to take Maddie to school for her first Valentines Day and boy did she get a lot of loot! She had a great time. But after school i had to drop the poor girl off to my parents bec i wanted to rest a little bit because I didn't get to sleep much the night before. My husband bought me some red tulips. Isn't he sweet, ill post a picture later. So needless to say we didn't do anything for Valentines. Oh well, everyday can be Valentines day :o)

Here are the pictures...

We had a great time, Maddie did so well on the plane she just slept most of the way. We also went to visit Auntie Rose, Uncle Tom and finally got to meet Auntie Felisa. We also had dinner with Uncle Fermin. We also met up with the Go's it was nice of them to drive up to meet up with us. I have not seen the kids in 3 years and the last time i saw Ken and Chari was during Maddie's baptism. it was a nice bonding weekend for all of us. Maddie was so excited to see the great Sphinx at the Luxor, the Shark's Reef at Mandalay Bay, the Lions at MGM, Cox also took her on the gondola which she still remembers till today, but most of all, I think the highlight of the trip for her is the Bellagio water show. We're all excited to be a part of Maddie's first plane ride. I think we were more excited for her than she was. :o)

Well, it won't be for a while before we go on another plane ride...sigh...until next time i guess...

Hello from Las Vegas

Maddie went on her first plane ride yesterday! For a second there, i thought she was going to miss the take off as she was about to fall asleep because we have woke up very early to get ready for the trip. But she stayed up just long enough for us to reach the cruising altitude and then fall asleep. I'm hoping next time we get on the plane Maddie would be potty trained already because she was tooooooooo BIG for the change table! I wish i had my camera in there with me because it was funny. She only had her back to the table and both her feet were up in the air. Plus, she did the nasty too...so it stank up a storm in that one little lavatory.

When we got into Las Vegas we landed in the new part of the airport and we had to take a monorail to get to our baggage she had a great time, she was said "Mama we're going so fast" the other passengers on the plane are chuckling because she was so amused. She saw some palm trees and asked where the pyramid was. I think from her Little Einstein show she remembers the pyramid and the palm trees. Today we are going shopping as the boys are going golfing then tomorrow we plan to hit the strip.

Cox was on live Radio today he was interviewed about OSA. Apparetly the associate producer called the office out of the blue. He had to be at the station at 6am! Yikes! (thank God it's not me) I could not sleep well all night worried that he might not wake up to leave for his interview. But he did..he probably could not sleep either making sure that he makes at 6am. The interview today was about the extra hour of sleep that we gained over the weekend.

Apparently, he has another gig coming up one of his patients is a host for another radio station.

I will update everyone on the next gig just in case you'd like to listen online.

Halloween part 2 & 3

Part 2 is at school...

Maddie's pre-school was resumed this week after a week of hiatus last week. If you could believe it, a small plane hit her school (imagine 9/11 but on a smaller scale) the pilot died and only 2 people are injured. So the teacher called on Monday to make sure that everyone wore their costumes to class on Tuesday. They made pumpkins out of paper, and the teacher had them decorate their own treat bags and they had a few trick or treating stations in the classroom. Here are the pics

Part 3 is a the mall...

This is our first time to go to Richmond Center to trick or treat and I think this will be our last time. There was a lot of shoving and it was just TOO busy for us. Since the mall was only handing out candies between 6 & 7, when we got there at 530pm the whole food court was PACKED with people sitting, eating dinner and just waiting for the candies to start coming. And as soon as 6pm hit, the older kids started running towards whatever store they saw that was handing out candy. Maddie and I didn't make it to too many stores I just wanted her to experience what trick or treating was all about. I think next year we will go and join Monique at her place for trick or treating. I would've taken a picture at the mall but i was too worried about losing Maddie. Here are our pictures at home.

Trick or Treat Part 1

We (Erin and I) took Maddie to Steveston Village for some trick or treating, since it was a nice day we took advantage of the little sunshine that we had. Sophia (the Zebra) and Uncle B came along for the walk about... we had a great time. I think I walked Maddie a little too long cause my little girl has a little blister on her pinky toe :o(

Sorry for the long absence, I've just been a little busy since i last posted but have not had the chance to post anything.

First of all, Congrats to Van, Andrew and Aidan on their latest arrival Baby Carmina Isabelle weighing in at 9.5lbs. Wow.. I'm glad it was you Van who pushed her out and not me! Haha. Also to Jen & Art Dy for their new baby boy Richard Benjamin Calubad Dy weighing in at almost 6 lbs. Sleepless nights here we come...

Secondly, Cha here are some pictures from Maddie's activites...since you were accusing me of slacking off here they are!

Finally, i just want to share the good news..Maddie pooped in her little potty today!!! But she actually peeed in the toilet last Sunday night. After waiting for 30 min she finally peed! And as a reward she got to flush the toilet! Woooohoooo... actually after 15min of sitting in the bathroom with her i was already to give up, but then she kept on insisting that she wants to pee so good thing she persisted. Am so proud of her...i hope this is the road to a successful potty training! Wish us luck!

Van's Surprise Baby Shower

I have a confession, I have never flown a kite ever in my life, till today. Well I didn't technically fly it Cox did. I was just the token photographer. We took Maddie to Gary Point Park. I was a perfect kite flying day. When we got there, we were not the only ones who thought it was a great day for kites. Here are the pictures...but before that..I just wanted to say that when Cox handed over the kite for Maddie to hold, after a few seconds she decides to let go of it, so Cox had to sprint to run after the runaway kite! Funny!

Our friends Jen & Randell just had a baby girl. Mikayla Isabelle 7lbs 9 oz. Both baby and mommy are doing well. Congratulations Jen & Randell. I will upload a picture of the baby as soon as I get one.

On a sad note, we found Maddie's fish, Jupjup dead in her tank this am. I think we will have to replace her because Maddie was asking about her and I told her that she was sleeping *wink* *wink*. So i guess Cox will have to take care of the burial of the fish alone, while i figure out a way to replace the fish inconspicouously. Hmmmm.... should we name the "new" fish jupjup too? Hmmmmmmm...

Sorry I have not been able to post anything lately been a little busy with something. Will let you in on it after the long weekend...stay tuned..

Our Chilliwack Trip

We went to Chilliwack last week because the boys wanted to play golf. So we rented a villa, which was more expensive than we thought it was. oh well, could not cancel coz their cancellation policy was 4 days prior! Anyway, the villa was nice, it was a brand new 2 bedroom home with an awesome view of the mountains and the valley and right outside our sliding doors is the tee box for hole #1. Also there was a new jacuzzi which we enjoyed very much. Anyway, here are the pictures...

I cannot believe that I am a proud Mommy to a 2 year old. Seems like it was just yesterday that I was pregnant, and now we have a very talkative 2 year old. Man, time flies when you're having fun i guess.

We have planned to have Maddie's party at the Steveston waterpark, but the weather network said that it was 40% showers today, so I decided to move the party to Kongkong's house. Thank goodness I did that, it turned out to be a great idea. We transformed Kongkong's driveway into our own little bubble waterpark with the sprinkler and a super bubble machine. Everyone had a blast! Even the adults, especially Emman. Haha. The cake was a hit, everyone loved it! Especially the birthday girl. Thank you to everyone who came to the party. I hope you had lots of fun and lot so food to eat! Happy Birthday Maddie!

Greetings from Newport, OR

Newport is a nice little town on the oregon coast. If you've never been here, you should come visit! We took Maddie to the beach today and she had a BLAST!!! It was nothing compared to the sand in White Rock Beach!

We're off to the Newport Oregon Aquarium tomorrow, hopefully i will have some time to upload the pics.

Hello from the "City of Roses" aka Portland, OR

We got into Portland yesterday afternoon, and because we're avid shoppers, as soon as we were checked in we rushed off to the outlet mall that was 10 min away. We had to rush as the stores were closing within the hour. But we got some shopping in anyway.

Today we took Maddie to the Oregon Zoo. She had a blast! She got to see all the animals she's been reading and watching about in person! We even had to rush the last 30 min to see what animals she wanted to see because she was getting tired and is almost about to pass out for her nap. But overall, i think we all had a great time. Pics to follow as soon as possible, i promise.

To get to the Zoo we decided to take the MAX which is the public transportation in Portland (like the T in Boston and the skytrain in Vancouver) . I didn't realize how far our hotel was. It took us about 45 min to get to the Zoo when it would've only taken 20 min by car! I figured that Maddie would enjoy the train, but after 15 min on the train, she was getting antsy. So i guess next time we don't have to include the train as part of the travel itin. Overall, i think it was good for us coz we got $1 each of our admission tickets! Plus we didn't add to the pollution of the city. Woooohoooo!

Tomororw we're off to more shopping while the boys take in a round of golf. Until next time.... I need to get some zzzzzz's for tomorrow's big shopping day!

I actually was in a hurry to leave on our trip and forgot to pack my black sandals. My husband was so embarrassed that he told me to shop for a pair of shoes ASAP coz he cannot stand my outfit! So i ended up buying another pair of crocs but now in brown. Still not matching but not as loud as the blue! Anyway, i hope you guys enjoy our pictures.

I just thought I'd start jotting down what my daughter has been saying out of the blue on my blog so i don't forget them. Today during a conversation with her dad, they were talking about Mickey Mouse and her dad asked:

Maddie: You Betcha!

I just thought keep track of these things before my memory leaves me. Trust me, i don't remember anything. Ask my husband!

Another funny thing happened today, my dad and I went for coffee at Tim Hortons and Maddie wanted a vanilla doughnut because it was the only one with sprinkles (surprise, surprise) anyway, so she was eating away at her doughnut a few minutes later she said "Maddie's all done"...so i turned around and guess what was left, the doughnut part without the sprinkles. She ate the part with the sprinkles only! Hahaha Btw, her face was sooooooooooooooo messy, i wish i took a picture of it. Am sure you guys can imagine it anyway... until next time...

I took Maddie to her first "official" salon haircut. Am proud to say she did so well!! Check out her new do... Actually, we went with Sophie to have the girls get their haircut together, but when we got there Sophie would not sit in the chair. So Maddie was the only one who got her haircut. Actually these pictures were taken last week, just have not have time to upload them. Here they are..

We had lunch with Mo and the kids at Moby Dick. I thought we were at Crescent Beach, but really we were just at White Rock Beach. I thought they were the same haha. Catch of the day included 2 hermit crabs and 1 little flat fish all c/o Mommy :o) What did we do to the catch of the day you say? We returned them to the sea of course! It was Maddie (and Mommy's) first time to "play" in the beach. Maddie loved it...Mommy not so much. I just hate the feeling of wet seaweed or grass on my feet.

I just thought I'd share something I've learned last week, sorry i just had the time to share it now. Our 2 year old mattress has a defect so I called The Bay and told them what was wrong, so a week later they sent a inspector to come and check out the problem. When he got here he undressed our bed and found out there were some stains on the mattress apparently, if there is a stain on your mattress, it voids the warranty. Good thing the inspector was nice and he told me that he's going to pretend that he didn't see the stains and that I should try to get rid of it just in case we need to get it replaced or something. Did you guys know that? Anyway, so thanks to "SHOUT" the stains came off. So the moral of the lesson is buy a mattress cover to protect your mattress. I wish the salesman from the Bay told us about this when we bought our mattress....

I was playing with a new technique that I've learned -- painting in the stamped images. Here is what I came up with. I like this stamp set. I'm working on other color combos. Tune in for those in my future blogs. Enjoy...

I took Maddie to the waterpark again today. But she would not go in at all. I even dressed her in her bathing suit today. Sigh...all she wanted to do was to play in the playground. We went with Rissa's SIL Sook Sai and her two kids Elijah and Daniel. I'll post some of Maddie when i get them from Rissa. She was the one with the camera today.

We were invited to join Sophie and Dionne at the new Steveston Waterpark yesterday. Am so glad we went, I was reluctant to go because Maddie still had a runny nose. But Cox said that Maddie would probably not go under the water and just play with the water. So I didn't even bother putting her bathing suit on and just take her in her shorts. To my surprise, after a few minutes of warming up with the puddles, she went under the rainbow right away, she was soaking wet and having LOTS of fun going under the water and jumping on puddles. What a great day!

My baby is 22 months today

She can sing the ABC's all on her own. She practically knows all her colors, except she gets red and yellow mixed up. Not sure why. She can count to 20 in English but always misses 15.. again not sure why. She used to miss 10 but eventually she remembered it and she can count 1-10 in Fookien. My bi-lingual baby. Woohoo! She can also get on her high chair herself! She just did it all of a sudden on her own yesterday. I am so proud. She's growing so fast. It makes you realize that life goes by so fast. So, Carpe Diem!

One, Two, Three Four, Hi-5!!

We went to see Hi-5 Live!!! Madison had a blast, she was dancing to the music. It makes such a huge difference when you actually know the songs...I wanted to jump up and dance but i figured i didn't want to embarrass Cox. Hahaha. But amazingly it was pretty much a full house. As my husband would say, we are part of the in crowd with the toddlers that is. Haha. We took some pictures of the group even though they said no flash photography ssssssshhhhhhhhh. I had to take some pics for show and tell of course. As a souvenir we bought Maddie the Hi-5 pillow, very expensive but I guess you have no choice when you're already there :o) We also spent time with our friends Lisa, Calvin and their 3 year old daughter Mallory, Maddie had so much fun playing with her, they played till 10:30...WOAH way past the kids bedtime, but surprisingly Maddie did not sleep in the car on the way home, I got her changed and had to watch her 1 show before she eventually fell asleep. We all did. Phew! What a day...

My first totes with cards

I have been wanting to try to make these adorable totes. And since I have 2 girl friends who have birthdays in May I thought I'd make them one each. I had a great time making them. These totes have cards in them. For Adele's tote, i made 8 identical cards, and for Vanessa's tote there are 6 cards but since i was still experimenting, I made a few different cards. I hope they love it...crossing my fingers.
